Most of what gets written about diesel generator emissions in India focuses on CPCB IV+, the standard that applies when you're buying a new unit. But if you already own a genset — particularly one bought before July 2023 — a different, retroactive set of rules may apply to you right now, and it's one a surprising number of owners aren't aware of.
Why in-use gensets get their own rulebook
Older, often outdated DGs release harmful pollutants — particulate matter (PM), hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), and nitrogen oxides (NOx) — that contribute meaningfully to poor urban air quality, particularly in already-polluted regions like the National Capital Region. Certified RECD manufacturers
