kVA, not kW
Gensets are sold by kVA. At the standard 0.8 power factor, a 100 kVA set delivers 80 kW of real power.
Size your load →Prime or standby
Prime runs as long as you need. Standby is a higher, emergency-only figure. Compare like with like.
Compare ratings →A blank is a fact
If a maker does not publish fuel use or noise, we leave it blank rather than guess. Ask the seller for it in writing.

Short answers. Every spec sheet goes deeper for its own genset.
Which diesel generator size do I need?
Add up the running load in kW, allow for the largest motor starting at about three times its running power, divide by the 0.8 power factor gensets are rated at, add a margin of about 10%, and round up to the next standard kVA rating. GensetPedia's free load calculator does this for you.
What is the difference between prime and standby kVA?
Prime is the rating a genset can supply for unlimited hours at a varying load. Standby is a higher rating for emergency use only, limited to a set number of hours a year by the maker. Every spec sheet here says which rating the maker's figure is.
Are all these diesel generators CPCB IV+ compliant?
New diesel gensets up to 800 kW sold in India have had to meet CPCB IV+ since 1 July 2023. Some brochures on this site were printed before that date and do not state an emission tier; where that is the case, the spec page says so instead of assuming one.
Where do GensetPedia's figures come from?
From each maker's own published brochure or spec sheet, which every page names. A blank means the maker did not publish that figure. Nothing is estimated or filled in.
Can I get a price for these gensets?
Makers do not publish genset prices, and the final price depends on the canopy, control panel, delivery and taxes. Send us your load and site on WhatsApp or email and we will help you get quotes.
